First start up video, 71 F100

Post by dhenderlong »

After months of hard work, it's finally paying off. Starts right up. Ended up putting a start retard upon cranking. 25 degrees on start. Set at 34 degrees total advance, locked cam trigger. 6.5 psi of fuel to the carb.
Spins right up to redline.
Be sure to watch in HD.
Thanks to all that helped get me this far.

.700 lift, ported AL cobra jet heads, forged bottom end. solid roller. makes decent power at 7500 rpm. ALL MOTOR. [and then some nitrous if needed :) ]
Frame up resto mod. bought when I was 18. 21 now. I've touched every bolt on this thing. Painted it in a junky barn, turned out like glass.
4.11 gears. c6 trans. 4500 stall, manual forward VB. street truck.

Motor has dyno time on it for brake in. sorry for confusion. If i hurt the motor, its going to be off a large nitrous shot, not from starting. Though i was having backfire issues today. May take the start retard out. 7al msd box. Junk plugs could also be an issue...

Was worried about overheating, but I picked up some temp gauges, a big a$$ radiator and trans cooler. Along with a sweet fan. Stock from a ford Taurus. Moves more air then most drag cars.
