Jacks and Stands

Post by 68RGR »

Just wanted to let everyone know that Northern Tool has the Arcan floor jacks on sale currently. The XL35 is $140 and the XL20 is $89. They also have the Torin 6 ton jack stands for $40 a pair. (In store discount price for the jack stands on July 14th - YMMV)

OK, that's not the best price you've ever seen, right?

Now for the better part - $10 off $50, $20 off $100 and $50 off $250 IN STORE coupons here:

If you are near a store, you can use these coupons while avoiding the high shipping cost that comes with heavy metal items.

These jacks and jack stands will actually get your truck off the ground. The old floor jack I had would only lift to 13 inches. These jacks are in the 18 to 22 inch lift range. And, the jack stands are adjustable between apprx 15 and 24 inches. They also have a locking pin which gives you some peace of mind.

Additionally, the jacks appear to be well built and have good reviews. They are not $500 plus Hein-Werner floor jacks but my research indicates they are a very good value when the price is right.

I took the plunge and got the XL35 jack along with the jack stands. I think the XL20 would probably work just fine and almost went with it. But, I've had my eye on the XL35 for a while now.

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in garages. (Apologies to Kenneth Grahame.)

Good info, thanks.
For many years I have had a floor jack that lifts these old Fords way up. Course I have been working on the old Ford Trucks for many years.
My Late Father was a Chevy Truck man. He had a small, short lift floor jack and couldn't understand why I never wanted to use it. So one day I had my 65 CS Ford at his place and I got his jack out put it under my truck and put the issue to rest.
Miss those times we pulled the good stuff on each other. Miss the fishing trips also.
