Pivot Arm bushing size
I want to replace my 1971 F250 Camper Special, Sport Custom’s pivot arm bushings. Rock Auto (and Auto Zone but they are out of stock) both show 2 sizes of bushings. Since the bushings are oval where do I measure them? Depending on the direction my holes are close 1.4? side to side or 1.7? top to bottom. I want to order them from Rock Auto but don’t know which ones to get 1.495 or 1.715.

Re: Pivot Arm bushing size
I finally checker NAPA (should have to start with) they had both in stock. The replacement bushing is measured side to side. Mine is the 1.495. I did not go with the hard poly replacements (the damn thing already rides like a 3 ton farm truck and I have power steering). At less than $8.00 each these are made by MOOG and are the stock replacements. The originals were not worn, I am only going to replace them because I am replacing the radius arm bushings (with orange polyurethane) since one fell apart almost completely. The pivot arms are easier to get under the pickup if I need to replace them later and want to go with polyurethane. This way I have new sleeves also. (The original rubber ones lasted over 90,000 miles and would have probably lasted many more if necessary.)
I left the disc brake/hub assembly together (less caliper), pulled the lower shock bolt, separated the tie rod, compressed the spring then dropped the assembly whole down all together on a floor jack. The tie rod slid through the hole in the radius arm. Now everything is laying on my garage floor to be cleaned, painted and reassembled.
