67 F100 SWB Project

Post by toanders »

Some before pictures of my project truck. Wish I had a dollar for everybody that has told me, "You are not going to get your money back out of that thing.". They are missing the point of the feeling one gets taking something that is beat to &$#* and making it something special.

I consider my truck a hobby and hobbies are not cheap. I just say it's all about the passion for old cars.

Nice looking truck. Who cares if you get your money back. As you said, it's not the money, it's the accomplishment for most of us. Keep up the nice work and keep posting pics!

EDIT: Your grille is too white for that cream color. You should immediately remove it and send it to me for proper disposal :D

Finally got the interior (mostly) done. Took the plunge and purchased the ABS firewall cover. Should have traced it out the make a template in case somebody wanted to fabricate one. I had a vinyl firewall cover that I made, but the Texas summer kept making it come off (even with the "yellow" 3M product).

The ABS firewall came out pretty good. I made a few (errr several) mistakes, but not bad.

New bezel and gauges for the interior. I would say the interior is now done, but who am I kidding.

A shot of the full exterior. Need to save up some money for paint. I tried to get my wife to put on some booty shorts and bend over the hood, but no deal.

If it were about getting your money back out of it...it would be called a "bank" not a "truck".

Collect/restore what you love, and you'll never go wrong, all great collectors will tell you that, looks like you are on the right path, truck looks like a blast to drive, worth every penny if you ask me!

Now, about those booty shorts.....

So 13 months later, the project is done..... probably not. Anyway, she is fresh from paint. Figured I should post some pictures.

Now let the debate begin. Power steering/no power steering. Power brakes/no power brakes. AC/no AC. Bucket seats/no bucket seats.
