67 F100 resto mod LWB

Post by 67myway »

I'm new to this forum but I've been working on my 67 for about 5 months and finally decide to get a build post up so this is the story. I was selling my old Cherokee when someone emailed me about a trade for a f100 with a inline 6 in it so I figured he was only a 15 minute ride and that it couldn't hurt to go look so I got there and it was in primer needed fenders and had some bondo in the bed and stuff so I just went for it I thought the truck was so cool anyway (I only payed 300$ for the jeep) so I got it home rebuilt the carb drove it around alittle bit and it burnt oil when it was cold and ran like total crap even after the rebuild there was only a small improvement so I decided to take it apart and do the build my plan is to do a CV swap and a modular 4.6 swap while completely restoring the truck here are some pictures of the stuff ive done over the past couple months.

Lookin' good!
BTW, you have good taste in chain saws! I really like my MS-290 Farm Boss. I don't know why Stihl quit making that one, though. :?

Stihl makes some really nice saws we recently swapped over from home heating oil to all wood. I got some more pictures uploaded to my computer and picked up a CV front end from a local junkyard for 200$ :D but cutting the original twin I beam was quite the task but here are some PICS Enjoy!

Protect their concrete....ask me how I learned.

I like Stihls. Good power in most every package. I really like their 'climber' saws. Possibly the best one I have used. I have mostly Husky's, but am tired of oiler problems. Husky's always have poor oiling after a short time. May have to save up for a new saw soon.

The patio behind my house is where I have to work also. Winter and thunderstorms kind of bring things to a halt. Knowhutimean, Vern?

Oh yea it sucks working outside sometimes it feels like your working backwards and yup got the speedy dri everywhere pulling that 4.6 was really messy I drained everything before I pulled it but there is always just enough left to make a mess but here are some more pictures of the project! I went and picked up my motor mounts at napa they finally came in and I was able to set the motor in the frame. Also I was working on a way to make the crown vic fuel pump to work so I cut the mounting ring out of the CV's tank and welded it into the f100 tank what does everyone think?
