Why didn't I think of them! I've bought a lot of hardware for my truck from Mcmaster Carr. Thanks for the reminder!

McMaster if 'all else fails' but usually your local hydraulics distributor has quality clamps at better prices.

Fastenal also had good ones last time i was there.

cheap hose clamps aren't worth anything. i remove them and throw them away. I look for 'Breeze' or 'Ideal' I recognise the tridon name but don't see them often. Ideal are still pretty easy to find if you know where to look.

The auto parts store is not where to look, ha!

i manage a hardware store. i can confirm this. our hoseclamps are cheap foreign garbage. not to say they all are. the ones we sell and the ones our competitors sell retail walk in to the public are pathetic quality

The clamps that strip out are made in China.

The clamps that don't are made in the USA, and can be bought in bulk at a farm supply house, hydraulic hose supplier, or irrigation supply house. And they're about 1/3 of the price at auto parts stores.
too many Fords, no where near 'nuff time.

or, money.

Might consider a motorcycle repair shop/parts place for clamps. I have received some pretty nice clamps (aircraft style) with parts I have ordered for the Harleys I have owned.

AMK Products.... http://www.amkproducts.com/default.htm

A bit pricey, but they also have a lot of the odd specialty hardware.
