rant - rtv everywhere

i was squeezing a tube of black permatex rtv and the tube exploded in my hands. this is not the first time this has happened. i've had red rtv in two separate brands explode a couple years ago. some of it landed on my brand new shielded plug wires. i wish i wasn't so cheap because i would probably use a caulking gun with rtv. i decided to complete as much of the job as i could after it exploded. rubbed black rtv where needed with my fingers. didn't even get to use all of it but the squeeze tube was compromised. the only thing i had that could get it off my hands somewhat was goo-gone. i have some really good solvent for such disasters but it's in storage of course. good times

didn't yer mama teach ya to squeese the toothpaste from the bottom?

i have a couple of syringes that i use for hosing goop now, much easier to control and lay down a nice bead. Let it dry in them and it peels right out so you can re-use!

Every time my kid gets medicine i get another silicone syringe! woohoo!
