Way off topic

Post by wildcard »

My daughter bought a 2000 Saturn LS2 with the 3.0 V6. (I haven't seen the car.) I'm going to change the trans axle with one from a salvage yard.( Her idea. :dk: ) I don't know if it has an ABS system or not. Will an ABS axle make a difference on a non-ABS vehicle?

I would wager yes. There could be some interface between the onboard computer and the transaxle that could be kerflunkt without the right swap. Think link between speedo and onboard computer, speed sensor (which may or may not be part of the speedo), etc.
too many Fords, no where near 'nuff time.

or, money.

you're talking about same kind of tranny or swapping automatic/manual?

you can probably go automatic-manual and it will just run a little weird, but the automatic isn't gonna work at all without the right computers.

most of the time they have a different program on the ECU.
