brake booster size 68 f100/edited

I ordered a new brake booster with a master cylinder. The website stated it would need a 9" booster.
The booster I got on my truck is 10.75"
According to the parts guys puter, a 10.75" booster is for a 1978.

I ended up ordering a 10.75" booster with a hopefully correct master. Quite a few of the masters he pulled up showed the brake lines attaching on the wrong side of the master.

So why would I have a larger size booster? Answ. PO probably had it laying around.
Is there any great advantage to the larger size? Answ. Doubtful.
What was the stock size? Answ. 9"

What gives?

EDIT- I've got the new booster on, and I get pedal pressure when the engine is off, but when I start it, the brake pressure is gone, no brakes. I adjusted the pushrod out to where the lights come on with the slightest touch of the pedal. The vacuum hose is still working like it should, could this be a faulty reman booster? Can you think of anything I am missing?

Booster only makes pefal easy to push. Do ur problem is in brake fluid system. U must bench bleed master and all four wheel cylinders.

Hopefully u didnt get a disc brake master instead of a drum brake master. That would give restricted flow to the front drums. I think.

Ya, I didn't bench bleed it. I was sitting here scratching my head when it dawned on me...duh.

I will try bleeding the brakes this weekend, after the WD-40 soaks in on the bleeder valves.
