67 F100 Victoria My first build
I'm new on here as of today. Have creeped the forum for a couple years now to start my current truck. It is a 1967 F100 SWB that I bought from my uncle last year for $500. He bought it 15 years ago and drove it for a year and parked it. I drove it a couple times around the farm before I got my license. I am now 28. This is my first "real" project. I have a 67 mustang and a 72 c10. So I'm being long winded but I have to share my story with people that listen. My wife only cares about the Mustang. Lol I am from Southwest Missouri and moved to Northern Wisconsin 8 years ago after meeting my wife. My Grandpa has always been a ford man and after 80 years of being alive, he has acquired quite a few trucks. Currently on the farm, there are around five bumps and a few dents for parts or whole. Also luckily for me he has a a couple of bigger trucks too so I have f500-700 (?) parts to use. When I went down to pick up the 67 I bought a 2006 police cruiser from a wrecker that purchased a few of them. I think I had to give $600 for the entire car. I removed the suspension/engine/trans all in one. (Unbolted subframe and picked the body off of it. Haha) so I got back to WI and commenced to building. I got the old stripped and the new in before having to go back on the road for work. I build cross country pipelines so I'm only home about a month at a time between jobs unless it's winter and then it's 3-4 months. I haven't worked on it since being off this winter. It get pretty cold up here and my build is a driveway build. I have been getting back into the planning stage on things I need to get it buttoned up. I am going carburetor(Holley390 4bbl) and. MSD stand alone ignition for the 4.6 and a Baumann USShift trans controller for the 4r70w. Also am considering a late 90's Explorer rearend or keep the 9" and use lug adapters. Haven't figured out a color yet. I have a couple f600 gauge sets but I want to put modern but classic looking gauges in one. Move the fuel tank to the bed or under the bed. Other than small things that's my plans. I'll add some pics from my collection. Sorry again that this is a long intro and thanks for all of the knowledge from everyone. -Jake

Toughest part of the project is to keep it moving forward. Keep pushing! You got it going in the right direction!!

the money your spending on the intake /carb/and trans controller you could buy a premade wire harness and run the F/I and it will run better

Re: 67 F100 Victoria My first build
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Derby: thank you for the advice but there is something that excites me about carbureted engines. I think it's the fact that I didn't grow up in the era of them. I know it would be pretty simple to keep it efi but to me I think it's cool to see new meeting old. Carb engines require less to tune and adjust. I've learned a lot by tuning my Mustang and C10. It's fun to listen to the difference if an engine by turning a screw a half turn. I really wanted to keep the t18 4speed for nostalgia purposes but it's proved impossible to find an adapter. I am open to all suggestions and a pretty good listener. Thanks again to everyone.

part of the reason that EFI engines run so well and for so long now is computerized engine management
carbs run rich and wash down the oil from the cylinders and contaminate the oil
just my 2 cents worth
use a T5 from a mustang there are several threads around on how to convert your clutch pedal over to be cable operated

Thanks again Derby. I'll start researching the cable clutch swap and t5/t45 swap. But you still can't talk me out of the carb!!!

The t-5 is what I went with as well. Was a pain to procure the parts to mate it all up but I'm sure I'll be happy with the outcome. Try to get a hold of a world class if you can.

Trampus: did you mate a t5 to a 4.6? Either way after looking at transmission today, it looks like the shifter will be too far towards the seat. If so, I have been looking at the truck trannies. I want to keep the bench seat because I have a family and need the extra seating. And it might be just me but sometimes I miss my wife riding in the middle instead of on the other side of the truck. Haha

Well I have made a little progress. I am kind of hung up on an issue. I posted this in the electrical forum but updating here too. I need help wiring the starter and alternator. I have the donor car harness with the wiring coming from the starter to battery and alt. I need help wiring an ignition solenoid and also hooking up the alternator. I will post a couple pictures for reference. Thanks for the help.

I can't seem to find the edit button but I forgot to explain a picture. The last picture is of the CV starter/battery wiring. From the rear of the harness there is and unshielded wire with an eye so I'm guessing that's a ground somewhere, next in line is the wire going to the post if the alt, and then it's a round plug which I have no clue what it's for, and lastly it's the battery connections.
