Bump appreciation

Post by sargentrs »

I LOVE my truck! Yesterday, spent 5 flippin' hours replacing the alternator in my daughter-in-laws '05 Scion Tc. $165 for the alternator and the tightest quarters I've ever had to work around in my life and had to buy a $25 tensioner tool. My hands looked like they've been through a meat grinder. Would have been $50 and 30 minutes in my truck without even scraping a knuckle.

Oh man, I just went through this. I thought I would be nice and put belt on my dads 86 toyota hilux dump truck. Thought ' how hard could it be?' holy cow batman, I couldnt believe what was entailed. Took a couple hours and I had to jack the truck up. I swear I thought ' you know if this had been belts on the highboy this would have been done in ten minutes and I would have only needed two wrenches. Serious bump appreciation,

:yt: All of above
I helped my son change out the thermostat on his turbo VW Jetta. Dealer wanted several hundred $. Don't remember all the details but I do remember it was well buried and hard to get too. Took two of us a couple of hours.
