Wow what a trip when I go to change the plugs in my late wife's 2010 Escape with the V-6 Nothing like removing the intake manifold to replace the back three.
Come on Ford, make em maintenance friendly.

What worked on my Monte Carlo was the upper front motor mount, like a strut. I unbolted that and the engine rolled forward enough to get access to the back 3. I never looked under the hood of an escape but the same method may work if it is similar.

Well, one way to look at this is modern engineering. Spark plugs are not a regular maintenance interval item anymore. Spark plugs are now supposed to last 100k ballpark. So when your car is in the shop getting its 80,90,100k service they incorporate this into that checklist. Most people will run their modern car until they get a misfire code then only change that plug. Its not like the days of cleaning your exsisting spark plugs and re-installing them every couple thousand anymore. But I gotta say, It was sure nice on my 54' Cheiftan getting to all 8 of em' plugs right on top and in a row, haha.
