I would venture a guess of somewhere between 600 and 900 dollars just for labor

How long do you think it would take you to completely tear a front end apart clean everything and then reassemble it all and do an alignment ...

I don't doubt you. Only taken a vehicle to the shop once so the numbers always shock me.

A little under $200 in parts for new rubber parts and king pin set. My king pin job cost me $200 labor at local machine shop. Spent another $150 on new Moog drag link and tie rods. New front disc rotors and hubs another $75 + $40ish for bearings. Haven't even paid for an alignment yet since it's not on the road. Removal, 1 day. Blast and paint, 2 days (including drying time). Assembly, 1 day. Darn! I never sat and added it up before. If you can get the same thing done for $600 it's a steal!

FYI as a guideline from rebuilding my 70's front end:

Part/Source/Cost
Tie rod, right Summit Moog MOG-DS807 $106
Tie rod, left inner Summit Moog MOG-ES413R $52
Tie rod, left outer Summit Moog MOG-DS806 $48
Hoses, Brakes AZO $35
Wheel bearings NPD $30
King pins NPD $80
King pin labor Tri-Valley $95
Poly bushings NPD $40

total: $486

I did my own alignment.. it came out "perfect" as the tech said to me after he checked it.

Dunno. You'll have to figure out what your rig needs. What has led you to believe that the front end needs a rebuild anyways? I think all we have read is your question about an estimated cost. Heck, it could need a rebuilt steering gear.
