F100/Econoline spindle question

Post by BrockGrimes »

Are 1969 ford f100 and 1969 econoline front spindles that same?
I noticed the wheel bearings are the same when I purchased bearings for my truck.
There's a company that sells a disc brake conversion for the econoline that uses like 1995 crown vic disc could this be an easy 5x4.5 disc swap?
If it's not broke, MOD IT!

Are you talking about the Scarebird brackets for the Econoline? I used their setup for the F100 and I'm happy with it so far. It uses Dodge pickup rotors so the bolt pattern stays the same. Unless you're looking to go to 5 on 4.5 for a better wheel selection I'd keep everything the same. As far as the front spindles go I read in another thread from a few days ago that the I beams interchange so it's more than likely the spindles do too. I hope this helps.

Yeah same company. Found the spindle part #'s are different but the wheel bearings are the same.
I wonder if the spacing is different?
If the econoline kit with the 5x4.5 would fit that would be awesome.
If nothing else I could always do the dodge rotors and maybe get a redrill for a different pattern.

It occours to me that if the I beams are the same then the king pins should be too. It they are you could just swap out the spindles and get the bolt pattern you want. Or use the Econoline pins and spindles, either way it seems like it should be doable. Good luck and post some pics of your work.
