When I rebuilt my steering column I treated it to a new wheel. NOS in black.
The "new" steering wheel plate underneath was larger than the one on the original wheel. (hated to see that go because it was red!)
The plates in the picture below show a big difference in height.
The short one is off a "deluxe" wheel and the taller one is off a "standard" wheel with just the horn button.
I can't bet my life savings on it that it is correct BUT the steering wheels came of of original vehicles and that's what I saw.
Anyone want to weigh in on this? Is it right or is it a frankentruck encounter?
Just another one of the small differences that may make a big difference?
