I am about to remove some number of leaves from the spring pack on my '67 2wd 3/4ton. The goal to to reduce the harshness of the ride. Load capacity is not a concern as this truck is now 'retired' and just used for fun.
The questions are to those that have some experience in this endeavor. How many leaves did you remove? Which ones (middle, bottom, etc)? Did it improve the ride as you had hoped?
I have laid under the truck and had several approaches cross my mind. If I went to the shop right now, I would remove starting with the thick bottom one, and doing every other, for a total to 3.
I will be replacing the thickness lost with spacer blocks, as I have no desire to lower the truck. I will also be removing, cleaning and greasing the remaining leaves so they slide on each other better.
I appreciate your thoughts.

I wouldn't do this at all. I wouldn't have a clue which ones if any should be removed.
If the ride harshness bothers you, you may want to look at replacing them with F100 springs but again, there will most likely be a difference in mounting hardware.
