Are there any magazines out there that highlight older trucks such as ours? I can't seem to find any at my local stores.
Thanks
Scott

re: Magazine
I don't believe there are any that are dedicated to our years, although u will find specific articles in several of them from time to time- u just have to check them at the bookstore when they come out- jd

re: Magazine
Years back I used to subscribe to Peterson's 4 Wheel and Off Road. The reason being all the other 4x4 magazines featured Jeeps, Jeeps, Jeeps, and then the occasional Jeep thrown in for variety. Peterson focused on what they called "real world trucks" so it had far less Jeeps in it and was more interesting to me. Then they got a new editor, he promised big changes, that "you have seen your last chrome shock in this magazine". About the same time all the long time authors left. And then they started featuring Jeeps, Jeeps, and Jeeps.

re: Magazine
Yeah, I love those kind of magazines. The ones I have now are all about the new models and how you can spend thousands more dollars on top of your payment to make them look good. I am after the type of magazine that shows me how to chop my cab, c-notch my frame or install a vintage air in my ride. Basically a shade tree mechanics version not a millionairs version of how to pay to get something done. Oh yeah, it doesn't have to be specific to our truck just early model vehicles, pre-comuter controlled.
Thanks

rsjohnson, you might want to check out the magazine "Classic Trucks" I think they go up to the 60's trucks and maybe early 70's.

Re: re: Magazine
Yeah, I dropped CT after they went into the late 70's. Just not "Classic" anymore in my mind. The people I hang with see my '61 and tell me that's a "new" truck. I would have to agree with them and any magazine with "Classic" in the title should not include trucks with plastic dashboards, 3 point belts or smog equipped. Most classic car shows cut off at 1973 for a reason. Beyond that they are not classic. Sorry for the rant, but CT sucks.ivansgreat wrote:rsjohnson, you might want to check out the magazine "Classic Trucks" I thing they go up to the 60's trucks and maybe early 70's.

Scott - In addition to my 65 and 69 I have an 03 and an 04 neither of which is "comuter controlled".
What's a comuter anyway?
And now for some constructive criticism:
FYI: SpellCheck is a handy tool...Please use it my Brother!
I honestly agree you Brothers there should be a magazine like that. There is a big enough niche of us for there to be one!

Thanks guys, I'll check out classic trucks. Oh yeah Lawrence, if your truck didn't come with a comuter then your lucky. I am taking mine back and see if they will install the new model computer like yours
