What is the difference?

Post by wolfpack »

I'm going to go ahead and buy the 70 the guy asked me today if i was still interested and you know me i said yes... :shh: it doesn't have a title but i have a title for my 71 so i thought i would just switch everything out of that truck into mine minus the motor, i'm keeping the 360 in mine the other one has a 302 that's he can't figure out whats wrong but looks like the toad is going to get a face lift...or momma's going to give me one once she finds out what i'm up to... :help: Terry...

Just the plug that goes in the back and the circuit sheet on the back. no real big differences.

Yep, the instrument cluster and bulkhead electrical connector are unique on the '70.

Also if the consecutive unit number on the '71 is M00,000 or higher, the front axles, spindles, steering arm, tie rod, drag link and pitman arm are different than the '70.

Use the frame and drivetrain that match your title. Everything else can be switched out to use the best of both trucks.

A cab swap is not as difficult as it may seem. IF you have the tools, space, and time to do it.
Use the best wiring harness and its matching meter set.
But be forewarned. Once you start it, its VERY easy to fall victim to the "As long as Im doing it I may as well" syndrome.
