Hot to remove Steering Coupler

Do I need to loose/ remove the steering box and /or steering column to remove steering coupler. Thanks

yea you can loosen the bolts on the column and slide it up a little to get it off.

When you pull it up this little bearing will likely slip down. Just grease it and slip it back in when you bolt it back down.

speaking of ragjoints and everything related any body have a source for the bolt in replacement pin things that act a stop for the firewall side of the joint?

i'm not sure what pin your talking about. or do you mean the rag joint bolt?

those usually come with the rag joints when you buy them. i might have one extra i think but i would have to look to be sure.

yeah last two rag joints i bought one for the old truck and one for the new came with one the correct size and two smaller ones.

yea thats a universal kit. it fits lots of trucks and cars.

I loosened the Gear box and removed the Coupler, didn't like the rebuild kit, next time I'll but the full Joint from LMC.
it's expensive but is a better Coupler.

My horn had stopped working because the Coupler had deformed and pushed the steering shaft until the horn brush lost contact,
after replacing the coupler, everything's fine.
