Coil Spring Shim

Post by 67Doors »

I have a 67 F100 and in the process of changing out the iBeams. While pulling the suspension apart I found that the drive side had what looks to be a shim under the spring but the passanger side did not. Any idea if this should be on both sides?

Thanks,

I discovered the exact same situation on my 67 f-100 and wondered the same thing that you are. Apparently they're supposed to be that way.

I thought it was odd, just not sure if I should reuse it since I am replacing the springs and i-beams.

I replaced my front springs because of a lean to the left situation. I bought Moog springs and installed them but it still leans. Maybe my problem is with the rear springs.

I recently tore my 69 swb f100 and also noticed that too. Haven't started to put it back together.

Actually I was mistaken, the shim is on the drives side.

Did some research on it was used for correcting issues where the truck would lean. Part # is C5TZ-5355-A. Still not sure if I should put it back in since I am replacing the springs and i-beams.
