Looks like they used the basic cab and modified the hood and fenders to look more modern. I'd like to see the engine compartment.

I remember some time ago when Ivan posted a couple of photos were discussing possible importation of parts. Ivan, are new-old-stock parts commonly available? Also, how about posting more photos as some have asked. I think we would all like to see more of your trucks (instrument panel, engine compartment, running gear, whatever you can find). Thanks.

You gotta think they have tons of stock parts except for changes they made through the years on some parts.

It looks like they only changed the hood and the grille on the later years. The hood on the later F-1000 looks like a cross between a 96 explorer hood, and a 67-72. The grill also looks that way. I wonder what the inner fenders look like. A passenger side fender would sell well in America.

Here's the thread where we were discussing the F1000s about 6 months ago:

Ivan, the offer is greatly appreciated. I'll bet there might be a few who will take you up on that. I have a question that maybe you can answer: did the dupla cabs come that way from the factory or are those conversions done to standard trucks? I understood they were factory builds, but I've talked to several people who doubted that.

Regarding parts you may want to search at this site www.brasconpany.com.br/exportsp.html
Thanks, Ivan. I just emailed the exportation division of this company and asked them for a catalog and/or salesman contact. I'll post if they get back to me. Can't you just imagine brand new F-600 type instrument panels, brand new body panels and the rest!

Keith:
The dupla cabs come like that from the factory, you could get that option, with the same wheel base only. (that's why the box is so small).
LEt me tell you, Brazil is a huge market for cars and is the biggest car manufacturer in latin america, their goverment in order to protect their local auto industry, has very high regulations, i mean the cars you see in Brazil you don't see anywhere else, they kind of buy the old models and adapt them to brazil so the local auto-parts manufacturers make parts to the new model, that way this industry has work to do. For instance the FORD F U50 is the US jeep CJ 5. Same thing happens to japannesse and european cars that want to be sold in Brazil.

Brasconpany wrote me back on my inquiry regarding NOS parts. Here's their reply. I'm going to do a little research re part numbers and so on and I'll post later.

Ivan, do you have any idea of the range of years that the F-1000 will interchange with the 67-72 American models? Thanks.

Thanks for your e-mail. We do export parts worldwide as a trading
company, working with genuine, original and aftermarket parts made in
Brazil.
We do not sale under catalog, so the customer have to send us an inquiry
with PART NUMBERS, description and model and VIN number so let us inform our conditions.

Waiting your comments,

JOR:

Brazilian 1975 is exactly like the (US) 1970 (it even has the same front grill).
From there on I think that you can go up to 1990 (with changes on the front grill basically)

I REALLY like that modified hood. It's like filling the seam on ours, and pie cutting it. Really smooth and sleek. Yeah, f600 intrument panels.. it would ruin the ebay market and drop prices dramatically.

Was that a tv, and vcr? in that interior? Also whats the monetary translation, that truck had a 28000.00 price tag. That US dollars, doubt it, so what's the conversion?

Ivan?? :? :hmm: :$$:

Thanks,
Patrick
