Well I finally got a start on the cab........

After a long period of procrastination, I finally got started on the replacement cab for my truck.
I got the donor truck last summer sometime, and I've been looking at it every since. I got tired of that, so I pulled the cab off today.
I ended up with a pretty rust-free cab, so thats good news. Just have a few pinholes in the passenger floorboard, and the dreaded rust around the driprails. I will know if I can fix that after it goes down for a bath.
Now to start on cleaning and fixing!
Keep in mind that all this was done by me, with no help

Alright, nice looking cab, I suggest rough sanding those rusty spots and painting em with Por15. I did my cab floor with Por 15 - just on the rust. Really seals it off good!

yep I will por-15 the whole underside, and use Herculiner on the floorboards. I gotta get it on the trailer and down for a bath, then I will really know what I'm looking at. I got a good list going right now!

I got the cab stripped and pressure washed today.
It looks a lot better than I hoped, as far as rust. Just the pinholes in the passenger floor and surface rust otherwise.
it cleaned up nicely.
I had to build a rolling cart for it so I can move it around by myself. If I do say so myself, it turned out pretty good.

Sweet thats a pretty impressive setup on a nice budget to scoot that cab around, wish I had thought of something like that for my crewcab when it was in the garage.

WOW! Great cab. And it cleaned up really well too.
Not having to cut out floor boards and patch in rusty areas gives you a nice jump on getting started. And the dolly is great too. Like 460 crew, I wish I would have had one of those to make my cab more mobil while I was working on it.

actually I will have to replace the passenger floor, and the bottom of the cowl on the right,too.
I wish I had time to work on the dang thing, but other things keep popping up *meet-n-greet, swap meet, WORK*
But I will get started on it again one of these days.
I really like the dolly, it means I can get the cab out of the way when I need to walk around in the garage.
