Can I salvage this or just replace it Master brake cylinder
Kinda just piddling around today and I picked up the master brake cylinder which is a very very bad shape lots rust goop and grime in every nook and cranny is this salvageable and how should I do it I do have a sandblaster but I'm scared to spray inside and I'm not even sure how to take this thing apart any ideas or suggestions get a new one for around $69

My opinion....its the brakes. Stopping is more important then going.
I wouldn't risk the possibility of failure due to pitting in the bore.
For that amount of money, i would replace it.
I have driven a big bumpside at almost 12K on the road and never worried about my brakes.
I am very particular about brakes, kinda anal some say. Oh well, there are worse things i guess.

I agree,,, Breaks are the one thing to not play with. Make them the best you can because you never know when you going to be put to the test.

Yeah I agree stopping is important $69 is very affordable and it looks better replacement it is

No way would I use that master cylinder. I would also spend the extra money to buy a quality one from a reputable dealer. Not rebuilt in Mexico.

I'd get a replacement and $69 seems high.

That one is rather crusty on the insides... opt for a new MC.
