The tech section shows that spring also. It lists it as typical brake set up for F100 (4x2, 4x4) and for F250. My 67 F250 has that spring. Maybe it just wasn't used on the F100?

My '70 did not have it either. It had the spreader bar with the oval springs on both ends like the rear. However, my '64 Fairlane does have and it is not available anywhere, so the Fairlane community tells me.

Almost there. I still think you're missing the spreader bar that goes between the shoes. Part # 2A642 in that diagram.

You know, I could've sworn there was a bar between the front shoes too but I might just have to eat my words. I know I have the spring on my '64 Fairlane and thought I remembered having the bar on the front of my truck. Can't seem to find any pics of when I tore it down though. However, after surfing the web for pics and videos, mostly Mustang stuff, none of them have anything like that between the shoes on the front, either the same spring or nothing at all. I really don't know what to say at this point.

The spreader bar and lever is for the parking brake.
It'll stop fine without it. , just no parking brake.

The bar is only used on the rear to push the front shoe against the drum and then apply the rear shoe to the drum. You shouldn't have it on the front at all.

If you don't have it, you don't need it.

it's only used in some applications.

Hey folks! I hope someone can help.
I was all ready to replace the shoes on my 65 Ford F100 and in comparing it to diagrams, I seem to be missing some parking brake hardware.

According to old parts diagrams, I'm missing the following:
Lever Parking Brake Operating
C3SZ 2A637-A RH
C3SZ 2A638-A LH

Link-Parking Brake Operating Lever to Brake Primary Shoe
C4UZ 2A642-B x2

Spring Parking Brake Link
C4UZ 2A601-A x2

Any & all help would be greatly appreciated.
