1970 F250 4X4 Rebuild / Updating

I was able to get back to the junk yard today with the wife's help. We got the Skip Plate off the 1990 Blazer and the Fuel Sender for $26. It was an awesome day. Now I am going to order the 31 Gallon Blazer/Suburban tank for a 1982 from Amazon. Then I have to get the cross supports installed so I can Sand Blast the frame and start painting.

Here is the Alternator I picked up. Got the wiring also.

Here is the reworked Drive Shaft Spline. Now I need to test fit it and get the Front Shaft Finished.

I am going to take the driveshaft to work and try to cut off the bad slip yoke. That way I can try and get the replacement set in and aligned. Tack it in place and verify the runout.

Got the fuel door and filler pipe from a Suburban. I was bummed out that the Blazer we got the skid plate out of was gone already. Today I ordered the new tank and found one on evil bay that inclued the straps and free shipping. It was a great deal for just under $100.

Got the new tank and straps. Very good quality and can't wait to start fabbing up the cross supports.

I am still trying to get the driveshaft cut. I just have to get me butt moving on this. Maybe I will take it to work and cut it on the band saw there. That will give me a good straight cut and I can get another thing checked off the very long list.

Have been working on small jobs, trying to stay cool. Had to install a ceiling fan in the garage just to work early in the morning and after dark.

Well finally got the front driveshaft done. Cut off the bad spline and installed and aligned the replacement. Once tacked checked and adjusted the run out to be under .005". Got the shaft sanded and painted. Now have to install the slip shaft and put in the new u-joints.

The cross member was pretty thin on the bottom, so I cut the bad area off and grafted on part of one from the donor.

Now I am up to date. Hope to keep moving along this week.
