Cab mount progress.

Although these holes kinda lined up they were about 2" too far forward.
Other people talked about dremelling them out but I couldn't get it to work to where I like the position for the front wheel in the wheel well. The wheel was just too far forward.

So another solution was needed.

Now onto the rear mounts today.

Got a little bit done today.
Moved the radiator back just under 2", chopped the frame rails & started to mock up the inner fenders.

Just watched the video, two quick things watch where you put your ground clamp if you are absolutely set on welding that u joint on the column. You dont want to have it flow thru the needle bearings in the joint and mess them up. I just cleaned up the splines on the ford column and used a 36 spline u joint from bogerson,https://www.summitracing.com/parts/brg-013455/overview/ this should fit from the column to the original crown vic shaft. I couldnt find it when I built mine i had to use a joint and adapter to go 36 spline to double d to mustang v.

Second I know you dont have to worry about flex because the rad is crown vic mounted. But with the rad support hard mounted and the cab soft mounted the fenders will have to absorb any flex between cab and frame, I'm not sure that will be a problem. The rad support as you know was mounted on rubber originally.

Keep up the good work always a pleasure to watch your vids.

Thanks for reminding me, I'll put the ground on the column & not the shaft itself on the other side of the U/J...I may not have remembered that.

When you removed the original rag joint from the truck column. Did you just use a puller?
My steering shaft was mushroomed at the end which made it a bear to get off.

I had a hell of a time too ford swedged the end of it so it doesn't come off easy.http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... 75#p666544

I think I heard you say you ordered a lower bearing from bronco graveyard? I made my own but you can also get them here http://www.ebay.com/itm/65-73-Mustang-S ... mu&vxp=mtr

mustang columns are same size its where I picked up a smooth upper collar.

Still jealous of the no rust out there.

Thank you for the help on the steering.

I found a solution for now but will experiment a little in the future.
