1968 HD Dana 44

Post by 1968HIGHBOY »

I ordered a complete rebuild kit for my 1968 Ford F-250 front end today (HD Dana 44 closed knuckle w/12 blot wiper seal) and was curious is there an actual kit to do a disc brake conversion on this or what all is needed? Figured I would just do the brakes while I am there as well. Also searched and read on here but didn't really find exactly what I was looking for as far as the brakes and some said of needing a different proportioning valve and possibly other parts, Any pictures or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance!!!

I dont think your going to be able to adapt disc brakes to your 44hd. You would have to swap out to a later axle , like mid 70s or something I dont know the exact year hopefully somebody will chime in.
