Suspension Lift

Post by 1967OldBlue »

I own a 1967 Ford F-100 2wd and was wondering whether I could lift it with an add a leaf kit for a 1967 4wd truck? What is the difference between a 2wd and 4wd lift kit? I'm looking at the Skyjacker 4" lift 174EPK. Thanks.

Lift the rear with an add-a-leaf or lift the entire suspension to make room for bigger tires? I think you mean the latter but want to be sure.

..... and if you're asking btwn a 2wd lift and a 4wd lift, I suggest not doing anything until a full understanding is obtained concerning drivetrain configurations. That lift kit ya mentioned is for a 4WD - a straight axle. Installing taller springs on a 2WD will result in gnarly, undrivable and dangerous/deadly positive camber.

Options on lifting a 2WD are provided by this company outta SoCal: http://autofab.com/c-335588-suspension- ... nsion.html
