So, First we needed a Radiator.

It seems like everything needs to be done quickly - I know of one Radiator shop, and last time I drove by they were putting like 24” wheels on a Camaro, so Confidence that I could drive the hour over there and get a working Radiator back in a reasonable amount of time was low, so this happened.











This radiator fit well except that the lower mounting flanges are a bit too wide and required some clearancing. I am not sure if this is because of the fact that my truck had some sort of A/C installed at same point and thus has some flanges and spacers that a stock truck does not have.

I will probably paint this black at some point.

Next up we needed to keep water from pooling in the bed.

An NPD cover just sags into the bed when it rains.

Perusing the NPD catalog they list the Extang bed cover for a Dent side as fitting Bumpsides as well, so lets give it a shot.



The Extang Clamp has 2 positions for the bows allowing the tightness of the cover to be changed



The bow in the low position



The bow in the high position



The snaps also can be installed to decrease or increase tension. I am not thrilled with the plastic snaps, or really the amount of plastic used in the frame, but it seems to work.





Fits pretty good.

So we been doing some work around the house.



After several (ok like 10) full locker burnouts pulling stumps out of the ground the 2001 model GoodYear Wranglers are showing substantial cracking and produce not much but noise and dust when pulling (no traction)...



So the search is on for an appropriately sized tire.



Thanks to my friends at the dealer.



That should do it.





These things road forced at a low of 6 and a high of 12 for road force, this is quite good for a truck tire, particularly a fairly aggressive one.

Date codes were 2017 which is pretty fresh for a 15” tire.



Shame it will no longer do 3rd gear tire smoke...



She still cleans up OK.

Didn’t have time to powder coat the wheels... maybe next time.

On the bed cover:

It has been on there for a little while (several months) and I like it OK, if I had it to do over again I would probably go with the snapless version that lifts up, but it is much more expensive.

Rolling this one up neatly is not really a one man job, and getting it both tight and snapped in the back takes some practice.

I’m liking the tires so far, though pressure is a bit of a mystery. They are LT tires and seem to handle best with slightly higher than normal pressure.

Maybe I can get the other wheels painted and try them by next summer...

You'll be happy with the KO2's duckryder. Got them on the dually and the 74' bronco. When its done the highboy will probably wear a set too. Wear good ride good. Don't know how well they smoke though. But with your 390 you will find out!!!
