1970 F250 4X4 Rebuild / Updating

Question for all of you. How did you flip your cab onto it's back? I was thinking of using blocking in this area, see pic.

Then lifting the front with an Engine Crane or the Gantry Crane?

Paul, when I took my '55 cab off it only took two of us by hand and we flipped it on it's back, so I would think your cab should go that easy also. Maybe have three guys if you can! I should mention that we didn't have any glass in it or doors on.

So was looking for my spring pad again and ran across more parts to get rid of. The outers from a Dana 44HD Closed Knuckle axle.

Got back out to the garage today. Working on the floor patch first. Got the patch laid on top of the floor and marked for cutting. Have to put a few rivets in then I can cut.

Hey Paul glad your getting some of the patches done, and the wife didn't kill you for being gone valentines. The hubs just let me know what you need for all of it we will swap stuff around. You find that spring pad?

I sold one set of hubs and backing plates to a guy on the dent forum. I have the complete axle I can take stuff off for you, that is in much better shape. I did get home on "V" day so I am still breathing. I did have a bad week so far health wise though.

Wow! What attention to detail. The Highboy I am rebuilding also has the larger hubs, cool to know I'm not the only one dealing with them!
I am very interested to see how your rear leaf hanger flip turns out. I also have a 2wd frame at my disposal, so it may be worth doing the same!

Here is how it sits today.

The biggest change was keep the rear axle centered in the wheel well of the bed. I had marked the frame/wheel center line and reworked the rear drive shaft so the slip joint works within its travel.

Looks good and that's interesting on the keeping the axle centered didn't think about that fully. Also i d have two extra spring pads here. Need to keep a spare for good measure?
