Robert we can't keep them all, and as you see I have too many sitting here and I want to do at least one more before life throws issues at me where I can't do them anymore. I believe I need to do a 67 Buick Skylark coupe like the one my dad was going to sell me before he wrote it off when I was 16.

I've never heard of that before - generally vehicles that are more than 25 years old, both Canada Customs and U.S. Customs consider them antiques for personal use, and don't pay much attention to safety/emissions requirements. The main things are that the proper forms are filled out, both U.S. and Canada customs get their fee, and maybe Canada registers that VIN as having left the country so no one else tries to register it.

Mercury trucks might have been an issue years ago (70's/80's) if they didn't meet the U.S. DOT regulations for safety or emissions.

Worthwhile to do some research, make some phone calls, fill out / send any forms required, and ensure you don't hit snags at the border crossing.

I recall reading somewhere in my travels that Canada had declared Mercury trucks of historical interest and prevented them from being exported, or something along those lines.

I’ll see what I can find, but I don’t think I am imagining that I read it.

I don’t think I’m a buyer, unless you’re willing to trade for a Prius...

That's interesting Robert, I would love to see the article, I did try a search and came up with nothing. Not sure why the Canadian government would declare something like that on a consumer product.

To clarify it probably wasn’t so much an “Article” as it was a post somewhere, whether that be on FTE (before the ahem . trouble) or on our old runboard forum or here...

I always thought it seemed strange that a Government would take such an interest...

No problem Robert, I'm in a little bit of a holding pattern right now on the truck so this was all good and interesting.

Today was not only expensive but scary as I thought I blew it on the tire selection for my truck. I went from the 225/75R/16 stock tire/7" wheel to a 265/R75/16 8" wheel and this was the difference.

I thought for sure there wouldn't be enough clearance between tire and fender. I went and installed them thinking I just wasted a
wack of cash.
So here is what they ended up like!
