Re: 72 F250 4x4 Restoration
It has been an absolute whirlwind of a week! Exactly a week ago I decided to go ahead and start moving the motor over into the new truck. Since then we’ve had a lot of ups and downs, we’ve had some stripped bolts, we had the adventure of getting the exhaust lined up, Miss matched headers, installing a clutch, lots of learning, lots of failing, and lots of big successes. In the end we still had to worry about a possible head gasket leak, which we still don’t know what the answer to is on that, but it looks like it might’ve just been condensation or water that got in when I was power washing it. Here are some photos of the adventure, the motors in, she starts right up! Now it’s on to the drivelines, rear diff, brakes, a seat and a steering wheel!!!

Re: 72 F250 4x4 Restoration
The easiest way to get the braking better for now will be simply to add a power MC that has a booster, (until you can find a disc brake front axle). The disc brake MC will still make a world of difference in the stopping power.
There's two options to get the disc brake master cylinder hooked up. The first is to try to find the original firewall booster brackets / booster / and master cylinder from a bump, (or dent) era donor truck. Go about half way down this page to see the differences-there are too many for me to list:
http://www.fordification.com/tech/clutc ... ackets.htm
Or like I see many folks doing-bolting up a new aftermarket brake booster and MV, (whioch usually requires making new brake lines from the combination valve, (down on the frame rail) up to the MC-which isn't all that hard once you have the double flare tool.
Try these guys to confirm if they have a new aftermarket booster MC assembly for your truck:

Wildwood is a top name for the brake booster but you'll pay double the price for their name.
