Re: 1972 Ford F100 Project.
First thing this morning used the angle grinder with wire wheel to knock back the rust on the rear leaf springs and components. Then I hit it with Phosphoric Acid. That was it for the day, got too hot, maybe prime first thing tomorrow morning.

Put the first coat of semi-gloss black today, will do the second coat tomorrow. Then I wait for my leaf spring bushings to come in from the states, mIght be another week or two for them to arrive.

Looking really good! Googled that and figured out the tremclad deal. That stuff holds good. Used kbs coatings and it’s great stuff too. Liking the way this is coming along.

Looking really good!
I remember using Tremclad on an old swing set when I was a kid...painted over the rust after sanding the scale off, and it held up better than the original factory finish. This truck will never get this abuse it had in its first life, so that Tremclad topcoat will outlast all of us

The rear leaf spring bushings ( Energy Suspension 4.2139G ) arrived in the mail this morning. Installed them and put the leaf springs back on the truck.

Took the angle grinder with the wire wheel to the rear axle today and then brushed on phosphoric acid. Tomorrow hope to get the primer on the axle.
