Rear bumper

Can someone please tell me what year rear bumper will fit my 72’ f 250 sport custom. Step bumper or a regular type bumper

You can use the step bumper or chrome sport bumper from any 1967 to 1972 style side Ford truck. You might be able to adapt the dent side truck bumpers from 1973 to 1979, but they have a wider frame in the back. Its my understanding that you can shim the bumper brackets to get them to work. The dent side 4 X 4 truck frames did not get wider in the rear until 1977 so you could use them. LMC, NPD and Dennis Carpenter sell new step bumpers but they are not exactly the same as the original bumpers, but they are chromed & you can get one from LMC that has built in back up lights. They also sell new chrome sport bumpers if I remember correctly. You might check the parts wanted section on the Fordification website, or the parts for sale on the Fordification Facebook if you are looking for a original bumper. Hope this helps!

bumper/brackets fit 1964/72 trucks since they have 34" frame width, 73/76 trucks with 34" frame width, But all other 73/79 trucks would have the 37" frame width
