I am sorry for the accident of your wife and the loss of the car. Luckily she wasn't injured badly, that's the main important thing of it all! Sheet metal you can replace, life not! Hope all will go well with insurance and the health of your wife!
What a find in the woods! Looks like a decent truck and a fairly good deal! Would you pull it in total and save it?
Best wishes to you and your wife,
Thanks timachone - much appriciated! She's doing ok just really sore and bruised which getting blindsided and spun into a pole tends to do! I haven't let the insurance look at the car yet since I just got home yesterday so I'm going out to look at it in the morning and go from there - from what I'm being told by everyone thats seen it's totalled so I guess she will be getting a new 2020 Soul to replace it with - she even picked one out already.......
As far as the F250 I have family right there so I think I might see if someone can store it for me and if they can I'll haul it out for a later project - I don't like fixing rust but something about the old girl spoke to me. He did tell me the 352 that's in it has something wrong with it which was why it was parked but I like them all original when you find them like that so if I get if I'll definitely rebuild it.....just have to wait and see if things work out! I also want to post more photos but now BOTH my phone and tablet decided to quit working so I have to wait for my son to look at them - I'm ok old to figure that stuff out - and if he can get them working I'll post more!
On a positive note I put almost 1500 miles on the bump with almost zero problems!..... .........I had a small PS leak I fixed this morning and I changed the carb return springs and adjusted the linkage - it had a small catch in it when you first push the pedal - and I have a few cab leaks to track down. The most amazing thing to me was it lost NO OIL - the dipstick was exactly where it was when I changed it before the trip! I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle that didn't lose at least a little with the exception of the Kia.......gotta give a hats off to idaho_cowboy for selling me such a nice truck to enjoy!...........

Glad to hear she is doing ok! If she is even thinking of a new one and driving again she will get over it...
That's cool the truck has some promising substance and you will save it one day! From the photos it looks really good, complete and worth the rescue! Nice to hear you will keep it. Often such problems as described are not the biggest - it could be something minor and the truck will perhaps run again very quick
Great you put such a bunch of miles on the truck! You treat it like it was made for. That's amazing - what could be better than that getting a reliable driver out of it?!? And you even lost any oil! Even the newest cars, especially those with small cubic inches but turbos, need relatively much oil compared to the old naturally aspirated engines.

Well this whole thing with my wife's accident just keeps getting better......... .........Progressive - their insurance - texted my wife with a claim number and a message to call them to settle while she was still at the hospital which I told her not to say anything to them until I got home. I called them and the lady i talked to was all nice and cheery and never asked about how my wife was and then said that she needed a statement from her of what happened to which I told her I was in TN and would contact her when I got home and got all the information on what happened. She then asked where the car was towed to go which I said I wouldn't tell her because NOBODY was going to do ANYTHING until I got back to Ohio.....she then tried to tell me that if I didn't tell her that I would be responsible for the towing and storage fees.........I told her that her insured was at fault and that I wouldn't be paying for anything to which she replied " well we don't know who's at fault" - she didn't have much to say when I told her the girl that hit my wife was cited and therefore at fault and they were responsible for any and all costs incurred by us..........by this time I was pretty irate and told her I would contact her when I got home and hung up. So Monday i went and looked at the car, talked to the officer on scene, and called her at 11:30 and left a voicemail to call me to get the ball rolling now that I was home and had all the facts............it's now Thursday and SHE HASN'T CALLED ME BACK.......so I just got State Farm involved - my insurance - all because Progressive is a fly by night ripoff company that wants to settle before anyone really knows what's going on so they can get off cheap. We didn't even get offered a rental car from them - had to borrow a car for her to use. My son in law had a guy hit his car in the parking lot where he works and the guy had Progressive and they screwed him around for a month and a half trying to get out of paying an $1100 repair bill.......
The Only good thing that's come of this so far is the 16 year old girl that hit her is gonna lose her license for at least a year.........

Oh yeah, insurances... That's a decision over "life and death" which one you have... I know that feelings. Often the cheaper ones aren't the best. Hope all goes well
