Factory restoring and adding things
Question on restoration ? If let’s say you are doing a close to concourse but not every nut and bolt restoration on a 1968 F100 and the truck came with drum fronts and no power steering or A/C does adding those parts detract from either show judging or value ? My truck has drum brakes and no power steering or AC but all those things came as add on’s for that year. So is it frowned upon to add factory parts to truck that did not have them ?

If you want to do a concours restoration, you should aim to make the truck exactly the way it was built. With that said, who would pay Barrett Jackson classic prices for a truck with drum brakes. no PS and no AC? if your building the truck for resale, then add all the modern conveniences, make it as pretty, omfortable, safe, efficient and fun to do drive as possible and you'll fetch a higher price.
