Question- here is my rocker and a pillar.
20191027_202218_compress85.jpg
On the left is an angle piece I added to the replacement inner rocker to make the lines look better. Do I need to do continuous spot welds or the few tacks you can see ok? Should I do seam sealer next then primer?

One step forward and two back. I tackled a piece of the cab that I had been avoiding. Here's what I had to work with

to make this

But I decided to pull the engine and get a better look at things and found this

At least to bent pushrods on each side. Looks like I'll be searching for a cheap 390 crank since I'll have everything apart.

Picked up a "new" engine, came with this gem:

Has a 390 2bbl that runs good. Bought the car for $400, pulled the motor and scrapped it. Just have to swap my oil pan, pickup tube, and motor mounts (glad I read about grabbing the crank bolt with the stud).

Broke off 5 out of 8 upper manifold bolts on the 390, 2 of them came off with vice grips, 3 drilled and tapped. Have done a lot to the cab but have a long way to go. Here is my new floor at the rear cab mounts

Next step is making inner cab corners.

Finished my inner cab corners, just need to tack them in place

Thought you would get a kick out of my "sheet metal brake" I sandwich it in my hydraulic press and beat it down. Had to break out the big hammer for the 16ga metal!

I'd be embarrassed to say how many hours (beers) I have in this rocker panel. New top and back side and a few inches of the curved part. Aftermarket rockers weren't even close.
