Re: Hitch with mustang gas tank
Same here.
The (currently back ordered) LMC truck hitch may work, but it depends on how the mustang tank was mounted. Most use 1" box tube to create a frame for the tank, but I think I've seen 2 inches worth of stack by at least one person. Either way the tank will have to be mounted as high as possible.
If the hitch mounts to the bottom of the frame, and clearance for the hitch bolts, washers, could be incorporated into the box tube frame, then maybe.
Access to the hitch nuts would be VERY difficult with the tank frame and tank in place, but maybe some welded on nuts to the frame, or some type of double mounting system. The tank frame would have to have nuts for the hitch AND a means of mounting the tank. It MAY be do-able, but someone would have to get a hold of the hitch first.
Or a custom hitch.
