I got my '70 f100 about 3 months ago after totaling my toyota tundra. In the tundra, my American Bulldog/pit used to love to ride along and would scratch on the dash before I had a chance to roll down her passenger window....
Now in the f100 she won't go near her side. She's actually spooked by it.
I think it has to do with the west coast mirrors? when i first got the truck, the passenger mirror was loose and would wobble while driving...so i think i spooked her. It's fixed now but the damage is done.
Ironically she has no problem sitting between me and the drivers window and hanging out that side.
Please advise

I am by no means a authority on dog behavior or training, but if I were in your place I would probably start by doing something like, with the truck just sitting in your driveway or street, place her in the cab and have the window down on the passenger side and just spend some time standing outside the truck and petting / interacting her through the passenger side window, maybe offer a treat if she sticks her head out the window of the passenger door. See how she reacts to that then decide how much more or less time you think is needed to try going for a drive. if she has a small dog bed, maybe place that on the passenger side and try driving around. I think just exposure to that side whether its moving or not would be a good place to start.

I would try putting their favorite dog treat on that side of the seat to see if you can eventually get him/her to start getting used to going back on that side of the cab. It's worth a try.

How about having someone she trusts sit on that side with her for a few trips?

I thought about the ride along guest also. good idea.
She's making progress but slowly. I started feeding her treats thru her window while its parked on the driveway which helps.
I also think i've figured out another part of it......its the seat and ride are much more bouncy than the tundra! just part of the fun i suppose.
