On my new-to-me old truck, I was working on the brakes and notice this hanging down, underneath the drive shaft.
What is it?
Should I remove it?
Thanks for any help.
What part is this?

Guessing without a wider pic. Did someone remove the 2nd gas tank? My under-cab tank has brackets like that.

Re: What part is this?
That is a bracket for the auxillary gas tank SHIELD.
Just replaced mine and the item circled doesn't actually hold the tank, but the shield that goes underneath the tank.
BTW , was missing a smaller bracket that attached to the trans crossmember on mine that looks like a small angle bracket; you don't happen to have that one do you ??![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
