Cab mount replacement part
I'm in the middle of prepping my 68 Styleside to repaint. We decided to do some rear cab mount repairs so ordered replacements from LMC. They list two: OEM and some other that looks like reinforced with an additional bracket. I ordered the OEM, but they sent the reinforced they claim is original. I believe that number 8 in the picture is OEM, but they have 7 labeled in the catelog as OEM and sent me that one. Can anyone help explain if I'm right or what? No. 7 in the illustration would be the OEM one.

Re: Cab mount replacement part
So why would the other one, number 8, be offered at all? My cab has old bodywork, and has the after market number 8. That explains a lot because there are cracks around the mounting bolt hole probably due to the wrong support not being designed to hold the weight.

The one-piece sheetmetal cab support is a cheaper lighter weight version. Some people try to use it but going with the heavier built one is better.

Re: Cab mount replacement part
Thanks for the clarification on the cab mounts. So I tried to order two new ones from Dennis Carpenter, but they didn't have both in stock. The right one fits right, but the driver's side keeps being out of stock and the order taker says he has nothing on when they'll be in. Do any of you have a driver's side Dennis Carpenter front cab mount for sale? My friend losing patience having my truck in his garage
