The new brake shoes will get better as they get matched in to the drums.You will see positive braking.

Hi everyone! It's been a while. I have since gotten Bethany street worthy and drove her for about 150 miles to town and on several errands/work. But as older trucks go, when not used regularly for over 20 years, seals and gaskets begin to show their age. I'm in the middle of freshening up the top end of the motor due to the intake manifold gasket letting go. And as we all enjoy... Pictures to follow :D

Engine and trans fully rebuilt and installed. Almost ready for break-in :D

This was just a standard rebuild on both. Back to factory standards. Brought the engine to a rebuilder in NM and trans to a local shop here in TX.
