Most likely going back to a older truck

Post by junkyardjeff »

Since I sold my 70 and 66 F250s I got a 95 F150 that the frame rusted out so I picked up a 89 F250 but it picked up a torque converter shudder so with a fluid change and some additives its much better but thinking about going back to the simple days with a 65 to 79. I want something simple to work on.

The bells and whistles in the newer trucks can be nice, but you can't beat and old, solid, simple, reliable truck. They just go and go and go.

I agree. All the electronic gadgetry is good for nothing. Makes for lazy drivers. I especially hat that lane departure, and adaptive cruse control. Sheesh. My youngest just decided he wanted an older style and we got a 94 w/ 5.0l and 4r70w-2wd. Nice and easy to change plugs unlike my '04 excursion. If only we could get manufacturers to go along. No turbos wanted!!

Electronics free up more time for texting and surfing youtube without having to worry about all that pesky steering and looking.

Had to spend a bunch of money on the house so a older truck will have to wait.
