re: QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!
In general that's true but there are exceptions. Some trucks and vans got a C6 behind the 302 and some cars got a C4 behind the 351M/400.

re: QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!
The C4 can be built into a very strong tranny. If that's what you have, find a good tranny shop and have it built tough. It'll handle that 351W with no problems.

re: QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!
There are c4's behind some very serious engines, like anything else they can be built to handle alot. Alot of the drag racers if not running a glide are running a c4. They use alot less HP to run to begin with. Are smaller and easier to fit when using headers for another. They are also pretty reasonably price on some of the parts to make them strong.
Don't sell the c4 short, it can be made to handle about anything thrown at it.

re: QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!
Basically it all comes down to how many dollars do you want to spend and what you're going to do with it. Sure a C4 can be built strong, but the overall size of the C6 and internal components will eventually win. For light duty, a built C4 should be good. For towing, drag racing, and other heavy truck stuff, go with the C6. Remember, being overbuilt will never leave you crying over broken parts (most times).

We are discussing this in another thread also. I saw some dyno figures for rear wheel horsepower on car with a slightly warmed up small block C6. It was something like 150. The C6 robs power but the low pinion of the 9 inch apparently does too.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
