Damn rain

Post by marz68 »

Can't really do much cause it rains.
This is all I had a chance to do on saturday morning, I just might build a temp roof over my truck so that I can really get this thing moving asap.
You can also see that the body is starting to rust, I will run down to the home depot and grab a can of WD-40 and some scuff pads to clean the cab a little. This suck's :x

wo wo wo...be careful with that wd-40...try not to use it on the outer part of the truck...(what your going to paint)...especially on bare metal...prime it at least with spray can....or you can treat it with some metal treatment..i think its call osphault or something like that...i think they sell it at ace hardware..

is osphault like a paint?
I think it's a little to late with the WD-40 cause it already has some on the body.
It should be ok with the WD-40 if I use a good cleaner when it comes time to prep the body isn't it.

Yes, I am a deputy. It depends on where you live. Here in KY you can drive a bathtub down the road as long as it has tags and lights. LOL. In KKKalifornia, it's probably a different story. As long as all your mods are legal and you don't drive like Mario Andretti, you should be fine.

your going to have to prep it like you never preped before...that cleaner that im talking about is not like paint its an acid that you put on the metal to take off rust and it protects it at the same time...it comes in a gallon and it like a green color....im pretty busy during the week but if i find it i will let ya know....

Oh man, I do agree....NEVER use WD-40 on the body like that! The silicone in there will adhere to the metal like nothing else, and you'll have one HECK of a time trying to get paint to stick. Many body shops won't even touch a vehicle that's had WD-40 around it, just for that reason....they don't want someone coming back complaining about the paint job, when it was their fault in the first place.

 Lookin good, any lower and you'll have the tires coming through the hood. You could always shave off the cab corners and a 1/4 of the bottom of the doors and cab. :P

Man that is a sick looking truck. So what is the color combo your planning on going with?
