Have an update:
Bad News.
I test drove my truck a week ago. The front u joint went out and the drive shaft hit the bar that is attached to the tail housing of the fmx. Broke the tail housing and thrashed transmission.
I believe it has to do with the engine had trouble sitting straight due to the towers and engine mounts. I used the exsisting FE towers in the truck and did not change them out for the SB 351w. Seemed to sit a little cocked to one side. This may have been the problem hard to tell at this point.
I bought off ebay a 88 F150 4x4. for 390.00 that runs good, needs a clutch and ignition switch, but runs solid. So I decided to sell my 69Ranger to my uncle who has a 68 Custom restore project.

I like this site. You guys are a huge help to us Mechanically challenged types. (but I'm learning)
