I knew it wouldn't be long before someone asked that question.
While this motor looks rat it really runs well. No leaks, no smoking, a nice thump at idle, and never a shortage of torque.
I had bought a couple of cans of spray engine enamel just to make it look a little better before I put it back in. But I also have a spare motor that I plan to build into a 410 while I drive on this one for a while.
I might still paint it. But for now chose not to because I didn't want it to look like a motor that someone just blew a bunch of paint all over.
To do it the way that I want, I would have to tear it down and thats what Im going to do to my spare motor anyway.
So, to save time and money. My trucks just gonna have to have an ugly motor. (Until I build up my 410 )

Working on hood:
Gave my old one away, but it was rusted badly. This one is basicaly rust free except for some heavy pitting in some areas.
Gonna finish stripping it and see how bad it looks after primer.

Finished stripping the hood today, looks much better in primer.
Wideguage dropped by and once again showed off his talents helping me out with welding and bodywork. Thanks dude. You rock!
The following are pix of my doors and hood.
The doors, fenders, hood and valence's are now primed and ready to be sanded - again
Thats Wideguage get-n some time behind the primer gun.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Ive got the cab sitting on the mounts and the bolts snug but havent tightened it down yet. Wanted to wait till I get the core support, doors, aprons and fenders on to line everything up before I sinch it down but its probably pretty much in place right where it is.rjewkes wrote:cool. how hard was it to line up the cab?
