Re: 1967 F100 Resurrection - Engine Running
Thanks for that video, Pinch! Beautiful country. I've always wanted to go there. Interesting idea on the exhaust. I've never seen one run on the outside of the frame rail like that. Any concerns with spring travel bumping the pipes?

Oops! You probably weren't expecting a Gand Canyon Hike in July. I apologize for that. Some dumb a$$ copied the wrong link. The smart guy fixed it.sargentrs wrote:Thanks for that video, Pinch! FYI - I am scraping the exhaust idea. It was a dumb idea and shame on that dumb a$$ too.

Re: 1967 F100 Resurrection - Engine Running
Now THAT's even more beautiful! She sounds awesome. I can relate to your quandary with the exhaust. I want to put an under frame spare tire carrier on mine, back at the rear, like "modern" trucks. So that kinda negates the Mustang tank install. So I'm putting the F-250 side mount frame on. That means I have to reroute my exhaust around the tank. But I really want the pipes to come out the rear, like you, and I want to see 2 pipes spread out like that. What to do, what to do.... Heck, at least you're at the point where you actually HAVE exhaust! Great work! Keep it coming.pincheweddo wrote:Oops! You probably weren't expecting a Gand Canyon Hike in July. I apologize for that. There are a couple of problems with my set up:
1. The Gas Tank - Can't run under it or between it and the rear end.
2. The Shocks - The custom shock mount I built are crossing through the area where one would normally route the exhaust. Plus I used air shocks, don't want to get to close to the bags.
3. Clearance - The space between the rear end, shocks and gas tank make it almost a zero chance of fitting anything in that area between the frame rails.
And now the biggest number of all
4. Risk - Routing it through the leaf springs and out side the frame rails could potentially be an endless battle of rattle and clearance issues. I plan on this truck to be a driver that can take long road trips with and doing a side exhaust will eliminate any risk of future problems. Not that I want the extra noise or like a side exhaust on my truck, but the potential of fewer problems over rules my WANTS.
FUNCTION before FORM.

Re: 1967 F100 Resurrection - Engine Running
You are just gonna have to run it out the sides.
It's looking great by the way.
Is that other grille aluminum?

You could always stop in front of the axle and add a turn down?

Re: 1967 F100 Resurrection - Engine Running
Many years ago I had it dumping under the bed. It turned the bed into a megaphone that came right back into the cab. Of course it was a 440 Chrysler speaking into the megaphone.sargentrs wrote:You could always stop in front of the axle and add a turn down?
