I got the hole cut in the new hood and have begun repairing the bracing on the engine side of the hood. I'll prolly start tack welding some of this sheet metal tomorrow.

I missed why you started over using a new hood?

The hood that I have had a wasp mud nest in the corner and it has rust in that corner. I had a hood in the shed that had been blasted and primered with epoxy primer a long time ago. I decided to use the rust free hood, even though I have a lot of time invested in the blue hood.
Made a little more progress today on the underside.

More welding and finishing tomorrow.
The entire area around the scoop is double-walled.

I should also post upgrade pics of the disc brake install.
I was never happy with the brake pedal after the disc brake conversion (link in the first post of this thread.) I used aftermarket booster and master and never liked it. I wound up using OEM booster and master available at any local parts store.

I got some primer on the underside today. I’ll add a little filler in some areas tomorrow and then block out the topside to see where I am. This area had to be flat to accommodate the seal on the air cleaner.

That shaker hood is gonna be awesome!! Looks fantastic. I had a question, have you used the auto cool guy fan controller before? I think I want to try one on my truck but I was curious to hear from someone that had used one previously. Thanks!

I've put Auto Cool Guy fan controller on 4 different vehicles. I have one on my 63 Unibody and I have one on this truck. I have Derale fans on both trucks. I've had zero problems with the controllers.
