I don't see why that wouldn't work. We have to have some photos of that, for sure.

That kiddie pool and hood got me to thinking.....my grand pa has a water trough out at the farm for cattle that holds probably 4 to 500 gallons of water.
He hasn't used it in years. I bet I could almost get a cab in there. I don't have any big parts that are loose right now, but as soon as I do....I think I may be going to the farm.

68F100, Seeing your pics just make me very happy. Since I can't get a sandblaster I'll just dunk anything and everything I can fit into a tub. Awesome. Thanks for the pics.

Like I said, it takes a little effort after you take it out. But nothing like you would have to do without this method.

I took a drill with a wire wheel and just cleaned up the black stuff that's left over when it's done.

Another tip: take a wire brush and knock off any crud/grease before you put it in. Won't hurt anything if you don't, but it seems like it works faster if you knock off the crud first.

I knew it worked well on small parts, but I hadn't tried anything as big as a radius arm yet.
How long did you leave the radius arm in?
Did you do the I beams too?
I'm tickeled that you guys are enjoying this tip.

Will this also remove old paint? I'm not talking about just yanking a fender off and tossing it in...errr...well yes I am! :D

Honestly.....I don't know. I did small parts like a brake booster bracket. It did have a little paint on it, and I mean very little when I did this...and it took it off.
Sounds like it may be time for an experiment.

From what I understand, it won't touch old paint. It's strictly rust from ferric metals (as I recall, you don't want aluminum in there, either).

I don't know about the paint deal because none of the parts I've done had paint on them.

I don't think I would try aluminum either.

I left the radius arm in all day while I was at work, so I don't know how long it actually took. I haven't done the I beams. I don't have a tub big enough.
